Gratitude… It’s a feeling of appreciation or thanks. So simple, yet so mighty. Not very long ago I was advised to start writing a daily gratitude list. I started writing a list of 3 things every morning before I started my day.
At first, I started writing in a simple spiral notebook, then a friend shared the gratitude journal that you see pictured below. It changed everything for me.
Not only does it look great on my nightstand.. hehe, but it also makes it easy to remember to log my entries day and night. Practicing daily gratitude was challenging for me in the beginning, but as time passed it became a ritual for me.
I’d write stuff like – I am grateful for:
- My son
- Time freedom
- My honey
You know, good things like that. Then I noticed it wasn’t really making me FEEL any particular kind of way. I wasn’t really feeling all fuzzy inside. I mean I was truly grateful for these things but I didn’t feel the necessary energy behind them while making the list anymore.
One day I decided to start writing my gratitude a little different. It would require me to really focus on a couple of things I’m grateful for. Like really get into it. What, why, etc…
Example:
Today I’m grateful for being Sean’s mom, he is really a fantastic child. I am also grateful for freedom, the feeling I had this morning walking through the trail was amazing. Not having to fight traffic, or deal with people I don’t like was so refreshing…and being able to listen to the birds’ chirp, watching the squirrels play and even hug a massive tree was liberating. Today I am so grateful for this amazing day.
See the difference from what I did before and what I do now? It changed the game for me. I feel that I now attract MORE of the things that I’m grateful for in my business and my life… It feels really good and I look forward to doing it daily!!! You should try it and let me know how it works for you.
